Huawei has officially introduced to high-end flagship Huawei P30 Pro users with many valuable improvements compared to the previous P20 Pro.
Main camera system with 4 sensors, 50x digital zoom, 32MP selfie camera
As usually, Huawei’s high-end P series is always oriented to become the best camera phone in the world. So, the P30 Pro’s main camera is upgraded to 4 sensors, compared to the P20 Pro’s 3 sensors last year. Combined with improvements in processing algorithms, the Huawei P30 Pro surpasses the P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro to take the position of the world’s highest DxOMark phone camera with 112 points, and is recognized by the DXOMark experts. Image quality is excellent in all lighting conditions.
More specifically, 40MP wide-angle main camera, 20MP super wide-angle second camera, third camera 8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, 10x zoom support (twice as much as P20 Pro) and Digital zoom up to 50x, an extremely “big” number that no camera phone can touch. The reason for such impressive numbers is because Huawei has applied submarine zoom technology to telephoto cameras. Finally, there is a 3D ToF camera that measures depth of field, supports the ability to take portrait photos and remove fonts and features AR augmented reality.
The P30 Pro’s 40MP main camera is the first to use the RYYB sensor (compared to the RYGB of other smartphones), allowing for 40% more light collection than the current flagship. The low light performance of the P30 Pro is also 25% better than the P20 Pro.
Instead of using a black and white 20MP camera like the P20 Pro, Huawei P30 Pro is equipped with a 20MP super wide-angle camera with 16mm similar to Mate 20 Pro. This approach is more practical with the tendency to take landscape photos of users. In return, this super wide-angle camera will not have OIS anti-shake like the black and white camera of the P20 Pro. The 40MP main camera and 8MP telephoto camera of the P30 Pro still integrate OIS technology.
In addition, the selfie camera of the Huawei P30 Pro has a resolution of up to 32MP, which is superior to the 24MP of the P20 Pro, along with the Vivo V15 Pro becoming the world’s highest resolution front-facing smartphones.
Powerful Kirin 980 processor, 4,200mAh battery with 40W fast charger
Huawei P30 Pro inherits the Kirin 980 processor present on the Mate 20 Pro, the first 7nm process chipset on smartphones. The Kirin 980 helped boost the P30 Pro’s performance by 20%, but reduced power consumption by 40% compared to last year’s Kirin 970 using the P20 Pro. Not only that, Kirin 980’s dual NPU is 120% faster than the NPU on Kirin 970 in AI artificial intelligence tasks.
Power supply for the P30 Pro is a 4,200mAh battery, an increase of 200mAh compared to the P20 Pro. Besides, the charging capacity also increased to 40W, only need 30 minutes to charge from 0% to 70% of the battery, significantly shortening the charging time compared to the 22.5W standard of the P20 Pro. In addition, the P30 Pro also supports 15W wireless fast charging technology.
The screen extends to 6.47 inches, the fingerprint sensor inside the screen
A positive change of the Huawei P30 Pro is to bring the fingerprint sensor into the screen, instead of integrating the home button on the bottom edge like the P20 Pro. This is the condition for the optimum manufacturer of the P30 Pro’s four-rimmed edges that are significantly thinner, especially the lower border, while expanding the screen size to 6.47 inches, significantly larger than the 6.1-inch P20. Pro.
